Yulong River Bamboo Rafting
The most popular way to enjoy the scenery of the Yulong River is to take a bamboo raft. The essence of the Yulong River is between Yulong Bridge and Gongnong Bridge, about 13 kilometers. The landscape is decorated with toothy karst hills, thick bamboo groves, water buffaloes wandering the fields, farmers tending the rice paddies, fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and village women washing clothes beside the river, kids swimming in the water. Delight in the idyllic scenes of simple rural life, and a few small villages with old buildings set among hillside greenery.
Impression Liu Sanjie
Impression Liu Sanjie was choreographed by Zhang Yimou, one of the most notable Chinese film directors. The show is a must-see for visitors who spend the night in Yangshuo. It is a spectacular night show combining music and light, ethnic songs and dances, using the Li River and surrounding karst mountains as the stage and backdrop.
Biking in Yangshuo
Yangshuo is the perfect location for exploring by bike. It is a rural area with quiet country roads, trails and tracks that wind through dozens of bamboo-lined emerald river valleys and through rice fields and local villages. For many, experiencing the region’s incredible karst mountain view and bucolic scenery by bike is the highlight of their time in China.
Xianggong Hill
Xianggong Mountain is about 28 km from Yangshuo and 57 km from Guilin. At the entrance, there is a row of gray-tiled houses. A wooden plaque hangs just above the central gate, with the four-character Chinese inscription ‘Jin Shou Yan Di’, which means to provide a panoramic view. From these words, you can guess how Xianggong Mountain will entertain you. As you walk through the entrance, you will start climbing stone steps. Along the way, you may think that the scenery pales in comparison to so many beautiful scenic spots in Yangshuo. However, after about 15 minutes, when you reach the top, you will marvel at the magnificent views.
